Gelo & Analie

When I fall in love...it will be forever...

We met when I was still in elementary, grade five to be exact, he, on the other hand was in his first year of high school. We were school bus mates! It was funny but it was I who had a crush on him that time. The other girls and boys would always tease us about it but, shy as he was, he did not make any move, and he didn't even try to talk with me!

Fast forward seven years after, we met again at the bus terminal, one rainy day in June 1996. It was the first day of school for me; I was on my 2nd year of college, him in his 4th year. We were both on our way to school. This time he was not very shy at all. He was immediately bubbly and was very relaxed the whole trip. Before we reached Manila he was already asking for my number and asking if he can call later that evening. What followed were late night phone calls and daily bus rides together. We became very good friends. We would watch movies and eat together frequently. We enjoyed so much each others company, we were instantly inseparable! Our rendezvous continued until November that year. Our days of being "just" friends would finally come to an end. A couple of days after my 18th birthday, we were on a bus going home. He was finally able to gather all his courage and told me how he felt about me. I, on the other hand, had already been convinced of his sincerity and would want to enter to into a committed relationship with him. On that day, November 19, 1996, we became a couple.

The next nine years were a full of love and joy. It was fun sharing our lives together. But as any other couple, we experienced a few bumps on the road, especially on the year 2002; it was on that year that we first parted ways after six years of being together. But, as faith would have it, we met again after almost a year of being separated and without communications. When we met again both of us could not hide the sadness we experienced when we were apart, and the hope that we could get back together again. November 14 my birthday, we met again, for a friendly date. On this day, after a year of solace, of grief and gloom, we got back together again! We told each other we will never be apart again; we will be together forever...

When I give my heart...it will be completely...

We have been talking about getting married as early as our first year together. We would always talk and dream about having a big beautiful house with lots of kids playing around. We both knew we wanted to marry no one else but each other.

One day, on our way home, the subject of getting married popped up again. This is around December 2002, just a month after we got back together again. We were still fresh from the post-getting-back-together-again-bliss; both of us knew we never would want to be apart again. So we decided we want to tie the knot and start building our family together. We picked a date - September 17, 2005, the day we gave our hearts to each other....

The Ring

We knew from the start that we wanted a very special pair of rings. It would represent our love for each other. It would be the band that we would be wearing for the rest of our lives together. We did not want to settle with just any pair, we wanted something that would picture both our personalities and character. Matus' rings impressed me and my husband from the start we saw them in one of the bridal fairs at Megamall. Their craftsmanship is excellent and their design is breathtaking. When I saw their booth again at the Sept04 Wedding Expo, I knew they would be the one. We immediately paid our reservation fee and talked about how we want the design of the ring. Mye was very accommodating that time and supports my ideas very well. We came up with a yellow gold ring with seven diamonds for me while a plain yellow gold band for my husband. We went home very satisfied and happy knowing Matus would live up to our expectation.

August 2005 came and we still have not finalized anything with Matus yet. I got bogged down with work and the one million other things we need to finalize for the wedding. August 6 I texted Alain to ask if we can meet to discuss the rings, we met him August 9 at Edgar Allan's showroom at Glorietta. Before coming in I was researching again and found this beautiful ring from Christian Bauer's website. I instantly knew it was the one! Gel loved it too when I showed it to him! It was simple but really one of a kind. But since I also knew that it may be quite expensive as it is somewhat an eternity ring so I looked for other design. With about 4 designs in mind we met Alain. I showed them first the design I fell in love with and then showed them the other three. I was very honest in saying that I really want the first design but due to budget constraints I may have to settle with one of the other designs. Alain was smiling all the while, and when I finished he sheepishly told me that the ring I love may cost even lower than the original design I had them cost out last Sept04. We were instantly excited and asked him to cost it out! And true enough it was a bit lower! We were both very happy!

Two weeks after that Alain called to tell me the rings are ready for pick-up. We were very excited! When we saw the ring we were blown away! It was sooo beautiful! More beautiful than the picture I gave them! I love the rings soo much! But my heart almost dropped when I learned my ring did not fit my left ring finger! We had to give it back so they can resize it! I want to cry! I want to bring the rings home! I was like a child whose candy was being taken away! But Alain and Mye assured me that they would take care of our babies and promised it will be ready after a week. After a week, I got a text from Alain telling me that our babies are ready for pick up! I was delighted! When I saw it the second time I was sooo happy, I was in high spirits! I was very happy to be able to take it home!

Both I and my husband are very happy that we chose Matus to create our wedding rings! Everyone who sees our rings rave about them saying they are so us! Thanks very much Alain and Mye!
